Solution chess puzzle #5
——————————————

The white king finds itself in an awkward situation. But how to push white over the edge? What if the black queen could move to f2? Therefore black needs to remove his bishop from this square. But moving the bishop to for instance b6 doesn’t work very well because of Rf1. It is also winning, but less convincing.

Thankfully the square f2 is also covered by the black knight. So black plays 1… Bg1! 2. Rxg1 Qf2+ 3. Kh1 Qxe2 4. Qxe4 Qxe4 and black wins.

White needs to give his queen in order to save the king. If for instance 4. Rg2 then 4… Qf1+ 5. Rg1 Nf2# or 4. Qxa5 Qf3+ 5. Rg2 Qf1+ 6. Rg1 Nf2#
